Wiki Version:
This project brings together all the data and code for the four experiments reported in Radkani et al. 'A threshold of desperation increases the temptation to steal: Experimental evidence'. Note that the four experiments were originally pre-registered in two different OSF projects: https://osf.io/gb5du/ for study 1 and 2, conducted by Eleanor Holton; and https://osf.io/hg4dw/ for studies 3 and 4, conducted by Setayesh Radkani. This project contains a data file for each experiment, and three R scripts. 'master script' produces all the Bayesian analyses reported in the paper, and saves the model output to a series of four text files, one for each experiment. It also makes the figures. 'frequentist script' does a complete parallel frequentist analysis and saves the output to four text files. Finally, 'experiment 3 extra script' does the supplement analyses reported in table S1, and saves the output to a text file. We also include our copies of the output text files. 'master script' takes many hours to run on a normal computer. The project also includes the Python code required to run the experiments in otree.
