Description: The behavior of SARS-CoV-2 infection is usually more severe among elderly individuals and people with comorbidities. Down syndrome (DS) is a genetic non-rare condition that affects about 1 in every 800 babies born alive worldwide. It is associated with comorbidities such as diabetes and congenital heart defects, as well as immunological disorders that make individuals more susceptible to respiratory infections. A greater chance of complications and unfavorable outcomes has already been demonstrated in patients with DS infected by SARS-CoV-2. This project aims to understand and systematize the current state of scientific knowledge about the behavior of SARS-CoV-2 infection in people with DS. This is an integrative systematic review of primary and secondary studies developed with qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methodologies in English or Portuguese that portray the proposed theme. The research will be performed in three databases, based on descriptors chosen by the "Medical Subject Headings". We expect to contribute to the synthesis of scientific knowledge produced on this topic, helping to integrate understanding and thus helping to identify gaps in the area.
