The University of the Philippines Los BaƱos Museum of Natural History holds the largest collection of arthropods in the country. The museum's entomological collection holds around 300,000 specimens of pinned, slide mounted, and alcohol preserved insects and arthropod specimens. Collections date back to the institution of the university in the early 20th century, and is now made up of specimens from collection expeditions, biodiversity studies, and student submissions. Presented in this paper are challenges we face in maintaining the collection and the localized strategies implemented to address these. We also present future plans to upgrade the digitization of the collection and mobilization of data.
