Wiki Version:
Instructions for replicating the entire study: 1. Download the data files located in the "data" folder: "CIUPANEL_DATASET_all waves.dat" (original dataset of the CIUPANEL panel study) "DATAset for the analysis.dat" (dataset for the analysis, created by running the do file: "syntax 01 - create dataset.do"). You do not need to create it as the data file is already in the data folder. ---------- 2. Download the do files included in the "Replication Files" folder. Run each do file one by one to replicate the entire analysis and the appendix results using the "DATAset for the analysis.dat". Run these files in the following order: "syntax 02 - analysis ATE" "syntax 03 - analysis in-party affinity" "syntax 04 - analysis in-party credibility" "syntax 05 - supplementary material" (for this one, refer to the instructions included in the do file for the replication of PART II). For this step, you will also need to download the data file "Data CIS_study3117" (this is a study conducted by the Spanish CIS with a probability sample). The intention is to compare the results with the population representation of the Spanish population. ---------- In the "additional information" folder, we have included an Excel file with the distribution of the Spanish population by education to compare with the sample distribution of this study. ---------- In the "Figures" folder, we have uploaded the main figures displayed in the paper and the appendix.
