**Goal** Goal of the present study was to investigate whether eye behavior can also predict susceptibility to visual distraction during internally directed cognition. **Short description** Participants performed idea generation trials during which irrelevant pictures appeared. Look at picture was used as criterion visual distraction. We used eye behavior 2s before picture presentation to predict whether following picture was looked at or not. Paradigms were written in PsychoPy using the SMI Software development Kit (SMI). Binocular eye tracking data was recorded using the SMI RED250-mobile system with 250 Hz. Data was processed and analysed in R-Studio. **Experiment 1:** 38 participants **Experiment 2:** 144 participants, variable picture onset time. **Data** The following data is available and can be used and reused for other research questions. - Eye tracking data (250Hz) binocular (in particular: pupil diameter, gaze position on screen, saccade, microsaccades, fixations, blinks - Top 2 Ideas for each alternate uses trial - Eyes reaction to picture onsets - Study 1: Memory data for presented pictures - Study 2: data on cognitive capacities and individual differences (in particular: Operation Span Task, Arrow Flanker Task, Antisaccade Task, Short imaginal processes inventory, Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale, Letter sets, Number series, Paper folding, verbal fluency, divergent thinking, creative activities, Self-rated Creativity, Creative Achievements, Openness)
