Wiki Version:
We retrospectively studied adult non-Hispanic white hemochromatosis probands with p.C282Y homozygosity and iron overload at non-screening diagnosis, with or without NAFLD, who did not have cirrhosis or other liver disorders, self-report of daily alcohol consumption >14 g/d drink-equivalent, use of steatogenic medication, or diagnosis of a heritable disorder associated with increased NAFLD risk. We identified NAFLD-associated characteristics using univariate and multivariable analyses. No proband had either hypogonadotropic hypogonadism or cardiomyopathy.
