# General Information This repository contains additional files and materials related to this paper: Mund, M., Freuding, M. M., Möbius, K., Horn, N., & Neyer, F. J. (in press). The stability and change of loneliness across the life span: A meta-analysis of longitudinal studies. *Personality and Social Psychology Review*. All files in this repository are licenced under the terms and conditions of the [Creative Commons CC-BY 4.0 license][1]. ![This Work is licensed under a [Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 License][2]][2] The repository contains the following folders: 1. Data 2. Analysis 3. Figures The specific contents of each folder are described below. # `data/` ## `documentation/` This folder contains a PDF-document explaining the coding and meaning of all variables contained in the datasets. A second PDF-document lists and explains cases in which it was necessary to treat studies special (e.g., use only one of two studies reported in the paper; leaving out measurement occasions). The third PDF-document provides an overview of the search terms applied during literature search. ## `original/` This folder contains an Excel-file that is a slightly modified version of the original coding sheet (e.g., empty helper variables are inserted that are populated during the analysis). This Excel-File is the foundation for all subsequent data processing and analysis. ## `exported/` This folder contains the original dataset as a plain tab-separated text-file (`.txt`) and as an R datafile (`.rda`). Note that the helper variables, that are empty in the original Excel-sheet are filled in these datasets. Furthermore, categorical variables are labelled in the `rda`-file. ## `data_for_work/` This folder contains three `rda`-files that were used in most of the analyses. Thus, instead of running the scripts for data preparation again and again, the necessary prepared files contained in this folder can be loaded. # `analysis/` This folder contains all R syntax-files that were used during the analysis. The file `loneliness.r` is the "master"-file from which all analyses were centrally organized. This means, that `loneliness.r` details the workflow of the analysis. Note, however, that each of the subfiles was used for the specific parts of the analysis. That is, `loneliness.r` is not written as a stand-alone progamme that automates data analysis. The specific subfiles are stored in the folder `scripts/`. When setting the location of `loneliness.r` as the working directory in R, all calls to datasets in the specific files should work properly. # `figures/` This folder contains all figures from the manuscript. In case multiple figures were combined to a single display, we provide all plots separately as well as the combined plot.
