Wiki Version:
Three studies examine social comparisons in the domain of sexuality. We determine common sources of comparison regarding sexuality (Study 1), experimentally manipulate the direction of the comparison to examine effects on perceptions of current sexual relationships (Study 2), and examine the relational consequences of comparisons to the sex lives of others with a 28-day daily diary (Study 3).
