This is a data, stimuli, paradigm script and analysis code repository for the experiment contained in the Callahan-Flintoft, Holcombe, & Wyble paper.
For each experiment in the paper you'll find 3 folders for the paradigm, the analysis and the raw data files (note: for experiments with replications there will be two folder, clearly marked, with the respective data sets).
Running experiments:
- To run the experiment, set you directory to the experiment folder and enter Runexp(0) in the command line
- To view the critical code for that experiment, go into the __ folder
Running analysis:
- Each experiment was analyzed in similar fashion
- Step 1 is to run the AnalyzeNGraph script. This calls the function batchanalysis.m which takes the raw data files and compares the participants reports with stimuli presented to calculate a serial position error for each trial. This code will also generate the figures in the paper (note: cosmetic changes to the figures were made in powerpoint).
- Step 2 is to run the bootstrapanalysis script which generates the reported 95% confidence intervals around the mean differences reported.
- Step 3 is to run the permutationanalysis script which permutes the data to generate a p-value, comparing the real mean difference to the permuted null distribution
- Step 4 (optional) is a second permutation analysis that generates the same results as the first but has a within subject permutation.
Creating stimuli:
- Code has been included to generate the color wheels used in this experiment.
