The current study investigates effects of cross-linguistic activation of
referential bias in bilingual processing of English implicit causality
verbs in offline and online processing. Specifically, it provides evidence
of the influence of cross-language activation at a word level on biases in
subsequent sentence interpretation in offline but not online processing.
Our results are expected to contribute to how cross-language activation
during lexical processing influences their referential choices in offline
and online discourse processing.
