Description: This research explores the conditions and factors through which ex-ante honesty pledges can reduce dishonest behavior. The focus of the studies is on the different formats in which pledges can be elicited and their effectiveness. The formats vary on two main dimension of identification (whether a name/ID/signature is required) and involvement (how much effort is needed to engage in the pledge, e.g. by copying the text of the pledge).
