![r4h-logo][1] The REASON4HEALTH project studies the psychological roots of **questionable health practices** – the use of traditional, complementary and alternative medicine (TM/CAM) as well as non-adherence to medical recommendations – in Serbia. The specific **objectives** of the project are to: - Document how **Serbian online media** cover the topics of TM/CAM practices. - Develop **instruments for assessing familiarity and frequency** of engagement with different TM/CAM practices and non-adherence to medical recommendations. - Track **the prevalence and the pattern** of TM/CAM use and non-adherence in Serbia and to understand the relation between these two types of health behaviors. - Explore whether TM/CAM use and non-adherence can be mapped onto the **irrational mindset** (a set of irrational thinking patterns and irrational beliefs) and whether health behaviors and the irrational mindset are rooted in **personality** and **cognitive styles**. - Test **interventions** aimed at reducing TM/CAM use and non-adherence to medical recommendations by changing the irrational mindset. - Engage **stakeholders** in Serbia in conversations about TM/CAM use and non-adherence to medical recommendations.
