ABOUT THE PROJECT ================= A National Forum on Web Privacy and Web Analytics was an IMLS-funded, community-fueled effort to shape a better analytics practice that protects our users’ privacy from unwanted third-party tracking and targeting. The Privacy Forum was held September 2018 in Bozeman, Montana, where 40 librarians, technologists, and privacy researchers collaborated in producing a practical roadmapfor enhancing our analytics practice in support of privacy. The Forum Event --------------- The Forum event was held on the campus of Montana State University in Bozeman, MT from September 12-14, 2018. This three-day event formed the centerpiece of the project. To learn more about the event, check out the Participant Preparation Materials. We have also held satellite events and presentations at ALA Annual in June 2018, DLF Forum in October 2018, the Code4Lib Conference in Spring 2019, the CNI Meeting in April 2019, and ALA Annual 2019. Outputs ---------------- The work of the Forum produced eight *Pathways to Action* that suggest future work toward a privacy-oriented agenda for libraries. The project team also produced a white paper, an action handbook for practioners, and a final report that articulates a roadmap for enhancing our analytics practice in support of privacy.
