Description: The goal of this study is to investigate the effects of a four-week virtual reality-based heart rate variability biofeedback training programme (VR-based HRV-BF) on health-related psychophysiological and user experience measures. The study programme includes four training sessions conducted weekly in the laboratory, which are supplemented by brief daily at-home exercises supported by a mobile application. 90 participants (50% male and 50% female) will be randomly assigned to either the experimental group or a wait-list control group, which will both undergo three assessments (pre during week 1, post during week 5 and follow-up during week 9). During the assessment in week 5, participants will undergo the Trier Social Stress Test for Groups (TSST-G) in order to test their psychophysiological stress reactivity.
