Wiki Version:
This project studied the effect of understory vegetation and downed wood on habitat selection by woodland caribou in two study areas: the Bistcho boreal caribou range in northwest Alberta and the Trout Lake forest of northwest Ontario. The corresponding paper has been published in the Canadian Journal of Forest Research (https://doi.org/10.1139/cjfr-2023-0105) Map layers are available as compressed geotiffs. They have been converted from the their original precision to int16 to save space. Plot data used for calibration and validation of the data layers are also provided. Model script files are in .dne (Netica) format but can be read by many Bayeisan Network open source packages and commercial software products.
