Wiki Version:
Study 1 - for the processed data, all participants who responded with "neither agree nor disagree" to the question "I consider myself a religious person" are not included in the data set. - For all analyses use only cases with "exclusions" = 0 Pilot Study - Processing pilot study data was very basic and there is no syntax file describing the process. We simply changed variable name prefixes from "Q33" to "AltImport." This is an alternative measure of importance asking participants to rank the four views that are most important to them as part of their world view. We never analyzed this variable because, as it turned out, we don't know how to. Study 2 - Due to a coding error approximately half of a participants were not asked to provide Likert scale ratings for "I believe in God." Responses to this question were not used in any analyses. - The following variable were included as measures to assess research questions not consider in the current series of studies and were therefore not included in the processed data: "YouValues_5" through "YouValues_11", "Q28_5" through "Q28_10", "Q29_5" through "Q29_10", "Q610_25" through "Q610_30", "SocSafeAtt_4" through "SocSafeImp." - For all analyses use only cases with "ExclusionReason" = 1. Study 3 - The following variable were included as measures to assess research questions not consider in the current series of studies and were therefore not included in the processed data: "YouValues_5" through "YouValues_11", "ReligValue_5" through "ReligValue_10", "NrValue_5" through "NrValue_10", "Importance_25" through "Importance_30." - For all analyses use only cases with "ExclusionReason" = 0. - For primary analyses with composite variables measuring perceived disagreement, overestimated disagreement, and perceived uniqueness, use variable that includes "inclusive" in the variable name. Study 2 & 3 combined - Processing this data was very basic and there is no syntax file describing the process. It simply combines processed data from studies 2 & 3 (with the few exceptions of variable not in both studies). All computed variables that we did not use for this analyses of these data were deleted. Variable names were changed slightly when study 2 & 3 had different variable names for the same variable.
