Here, we propose a modular self-certification scheme for employers that we believe could help promote open science practices in recruitment. ### Registered Reports ### [Registered Reports][14] are peer reviewed before results are known. Research proposals that meet high standards of theoretical or applied value and methodological rigour are then accepted in advance, with final acceptance guaranteed regardless of the outcomes, provided researchers adhere to their approved protocol and conduct the research to a high standard. ### ASAPbio ambassador program ### ASAPbio (#asapbio) is a non-profit organisation working to improve transparency and innovation in life sciences communication in order to advance scientific discovery (in speed and integrity). Preprinting allows researchers to share, cite and get feedback on their work without delay and with greater transparency. The [ASAPbio ambassador program][15] is a grassroots initiative to raise awareness of preprints in biology and to encourage discussion of the benefits and concerns.
