**Original citation.** [Eriksson, K. (2012). The nonsense math effect. Judgment and Decision Making, 7, 746–749.][1] [1]: http://http:/Eriksson,%20K.%20%282012%29.%20The%20nonsense%20math%20effect.%20Judgment%20and%20Decision%20Making,%207,%20746%E2%80%93749. **Target of replication.** The target of our replication is to examine the nonsense math effect, whether there are differences between academic fields and biases by added meaningless mathematical formulas in scientific abstracts. Specifically a successful replication should find an effect of the factor area of degree on the rating advantage of added math as the dependent variable.
