**Target of replication.** The target of our replication is to examine the nonsense math effect, whether there are differences between academic fields and biases by added meaningless mathematical formulas in scientific abstracts. Specifically a successful replication should find an effect of the factor area of degree on the rating advantage of added math as the dependent variable.
