Wiki Version:
The studies proposed for this project will pursue three specific aims: AIM 1 ----- We will develop the software and procedures for subsequent experiments that involve multiple paired comparisons and selection of fillers. AIM 2 ----- We will evaluate eyewitness performance as a function of mean and variance of the set of fillers, and to develop methods for selecting optimal sets of fillers. AIM 3 ----- We will compare witness performance in three types of lineup: paired, simultaneous, and sequential. To accomplish these aims and to lay the groundwork for translating results of our research from the laboratory to the real world within two years, we have divided the proposed studies to four Milestones.
