Please review the syllabus in the OSF drive titled "T18_SyllabusPreprintsAndInclusion.docx" for a detailed explanation of the course. Abstract: Researchers are becoming increasingly aware of preprints: complete and public drafts of unreviewed scientific documents. The use of preprint publishing and data archiving platforms has increased in recent years due to changing researcher priorities and requirements set by funders and publishers. This has created a variety of challenges and opportunities as it relates to scholarly inclusion. In this workshop we will cover an overview of preprint-publishing platforms and various ways researchers can engage with preprints in their field. We will discuss the challenges that come with the rise in preprint publishing and highlight the importance of creating a culture that fosters open scholarly dialogue to make research more transparent and accessible. Use cases will focus on disciplines in the biomedical sciences, but the core concepts apply to all research disciplines. Topics Breakdown Day 1: Preprints and Peer Review Day 2: Methods and Protocols Day 3: Data Publishing and Persistent Identifiers
