Wiki Version:
*(You can watch the [lightning talk video][1] on YouTube)* The concealed questions (CQ) literature is divided on the proper semantic analysis of CQs. The two most prominent approaches treat CQs as having either an individual concept semantics (Heim 1979, Romero 2005, Frana 2013, 2017) or a propositional or question semantics (Nathan 2006, Aloni & Roelofsen 2011, Percus 2014). Here I examine CQ DPs that contain *wh*-phrases—a category of data that has gone largely overlooked—and conclude that their behavior (slightly) favors a propositional approach: they lack certain readings that ordinary CQs can have, and they can be interpreted like embedded multiple-*wh* questions. The overt *wh*'s role in revealing this behavior leads me to call such DPs **unconcealed questions**. [1]: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N0uUxvPOPR4
