Description: This is a systematic review of policy decisions. The aim of the study is to examine alcohol policy changes in response to COVID-19 in selected countries within the 10 interventions domains recommended by the WHO Global Strategy to Reduce the Harmful Use of Alcohol from January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020 Research questions: (i) What are the characteristics of alcohol policy changes in response to the COVID-19 pandemic within the 10 intervention domains recommended by the WHO Global Strategy to Reduce the Harmful Use of Alcohol from January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020 (ii) Have these alcohol policy changes led to strengthening alcohol control (i.e. changes that would be expected to increase alcohol use or alcohol-related harm) or weakening alcohol control (i.e. changes that would be expected to reduce alcohol use or alcohol-related harm)
