Description: We designed a PowerPoint Version of the Future Expectations Task (Bamford & Lagattuta, 2020). We created this digital format to make the measure easier to share with researchers, as well as to increase the flexibility of test administration (i.e., in person or virtual). The original format of this task was a tabletop measure with laminated picture cards. Original citation: Bamford, C. & Lagattuta, K. H. (2020). Optimism and wishful thinking: Consistency across populations in children’s expectations for the future. Child Development, 91, 1116-1134. doi: 10.1111/cdev.13293 Please read "FET PowerPoint Explanation and Directions 2021" first. This document provides details about how the task was adapted to an online format. It will be helpful for identifying the specific files that have been uploaded for this project. Individual picture files, if needed, are available upon request. If you have any questions about this measure, you can email Kristin H. Lagattuta at khlaga@ucdavis.edu.
