In response to lack of replicability in psychological studies, registered reports have been proposed to improve openness and transparency by reviewing the research and publishing it based on its theoretical and methodological merits, rather than the outcome. By analyzing 143 academic journals, we aimed to investigate the limitations and myths associated with registered reports.
