Description: Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is considered one of the biggest challenges being faced in the 21st century, with wide social and economic consequences that could be disastrous if public health policies are not adopted around the globe. Although countries such as the United Kingdom, France, Sweden, and Denmark have documented historic and evolutionary changes in policies regarding this problem, Brazil has only the national action plan, and has no documented study about the policies targeting to prevent and control AMR. The objective of this scope review is to identify previous and current policies for prevention and control of antimicrobial resistance from the human health perspective in Brazil.
