Wiki Version:
This page includes documents showing the results and data we have received through our study. Our analyses of the data are also present on this page. Also included on this page are the outputs we received after analyzing the data. We excluded 28 (14.6%) participants for a various number of reasons. 6 (3.1%) participants were excluded because they did not give a correct or incorrect expected response for the standard question. This would indicate that the participant had randomly guessed. 7 (3.6%) participants were excluded because they answered the control question incorrectly. 4 (2.1%) participants identified that they got help answering the questions. 10 (5.2%) participants had either heard of the study or the bats and ball question before and so they were excluded. 1 participant failed to answer both the standard and control question, and so they were excluded. A second analysis was completed to exclude outliers. We excluded 10 participants due to the fact that their answers were outliers which was defined as giving a response which was three standard deviations below the mean. 2 unbiased reasoners were excluded for their outlier response on the standard and/or control confidence level question. 8 biased reasoners were excluded for their outlier response to the standard and/or control confidence question. These exclusions were made the excluded scores could have skewed the results and made the results less representative of the population.
