A. Instructions
The repositiory is structured for easy downloading and running of R scripts used in the statistical analyses of our project. If you are downloading these scripts to run on your own laptop, please ensure that the directory structure is preserved. The top level of the directory should contain the R scripts used for statistical analyses alongside the "Results" and "Data" folders. Within the "Results" subdirectory, there should be three folders titled "Perceptual Categorization", "Production by Perceptual Response", and "Production by Test Cue F0" **PLEASE NOTE**: The current working directory is set uses code specific to RStudio. This code can be foudn on the second line of the first chuck in each R script: setwd(dirname(rstudioapi::getActiveDocumentContext()$path)) If you would like to run these scripts outside of RStudio, you will need to change the code inside of the setwd() function
B. Scripts

1.Statistical_Analyses_Perceptual_Categorization.Rmd
This script performs statistical analyses on the perceptual responses (Beer/Pier) provided by participants. The code is broken up into chunks that correspond to analyses by participants' sex. The first chunk is for all sexes, the second males only, and the thir female only. Each chunk can be accessed from the table of contents via these names: Analysis 1: Perceptual Categorization Post-Hoc Analysis 1a: Male Perceptual Categorization Post-Hoc Analysis 1b: Female Perceptual Categorization
2. Statistical_Analyses_Production_by_Test_Cue_F0.Rmd
This script performs statistical analyses on the production F0s measured from participants' productions. Specifically, it tests whether the F0 in participants productions change across Canonical and Reverse conditions as a function of Test Cue F0s. The code is broken up into chunks that correspond to analyses by participants' sex. The first chunk is for all sexes, the second males only, and the thir female only. Each chunk can be accessed from the table of contents via these names: Analysis 2: Production F0s by Target Cue F0 Post-Hoc Analysis 2a: Male Production F0s by Target Cue F0 Post-Hoc Analysis 2b: Female Production F0s by Target Cue F0
3. Statistical_Analyses_Production_by_Perceptual_Response.Rmd
This script performs statistical analyses on the production F0s measured from participants' productions. Specifically, it tests whether the F0 in participants productions change across Canonical and Reverse conditions as a function of the perceptual responses (Beer/Pier) provided by participants. The code is broken up into chunks that correspond to analyses by participants' sex. The first chunk is for all sexes, the second males only, and the thir female only. Each chunk can be accessed from the table of contents via these names: Analysis 3: Production F0s by Perceptual Response Post-Hoc Analysis 3a: Male Production F0s by Perceptual Response Post-Hoc Analysis 3b: Female Production F0s by Perceptual Response
