The **TalkingDrinks** project is being conducted by the ACHC Communication Science and Biology lab ([CobrasLab Website][1]) and funded by an NWO Veni grant (PI: Scholz) and aims to understand the psychological and neural mechanisms that drive effects of being exposed to different types of alcohol-related information on drinking urges as well as drinking behavior. 120 participants complete a screening survey and a T1 appointment, followed by a 35-field period (7-day baseline, 27-day experiment). During the experimental phase of the field period, participants are exposed to different types of anti-alcohol information (professional vs. peer-produced) and report perceptions of the information, conversations about alcohol, as well as drinking behavior through daily-mobile diaries. Finally, participants complete a T2 appointment. A subset of 80 participants additionally completes an fMRI scan between T1 and field phase. The figure below prints a schematic of measurements collected at each study stage.
