Wiki Version:
CERBERUS is a databank for commercial wearable technologies. CERBERUS will use three different methods to assess the accuracy of wearable biometric data: 1) a synthesis of existing research, 2) expedited validation of products for which there is no existing research, and 3) an assessment of user experience using mixed methods. The synthesis part of CERBERUS will use a federated search system to quickly review the available literature on the accuracy of specific wearable devices in measuring biometric outcomes compared to reference standards. The validation part of CERBERUS will involve testing multiple devices at once and using citizen science to gather feedback from users. The assessment of user experience will involve gathering data from users through online surveys and interviews. CERBERUS will be able to provide more reliable and unbiased information on the accuracy and validity of wearable biometric data than what is currently available through online content creators and technology companies.
