Description: While the positive relationship between dietary protein intake, lean mass preservation and accretion, physical function, and muscle strength in older individuals is well established, less is known about the relationship between EAAs and health in this population. The proposed cross-sectional analysis will evaluate the independent associations of total EAAs, leucine, lysine, and SAAs with muscle strength, physical function, and body composition in a large, nationally representative sample of older (≥ 65 y) U.S. adults.
