Description: The impact of diet on cognition and brain development during adolescence is poorly understood. Initially, the aim of this systematic review was to answer the following questions: a) do specific dietary patterns, foods, or nutrients, consumed during adolescence, influence brain development and cognition? and b) do specific dietary patterns, foods, or nutrients, consumed during infancy, influence brain development and cognition during adolescence? Following a preliminary literature search and meeting with IAFNS, it was decided that the second research question was beyond the scope of the literature.
