## Getting Started with Preregistration ## **Slides and training materials used to deliver a 2 hour workshop on preregistration as described below.** This workshop introduces participants to the principles of preregistration, encourages them to consider the benefits for research and for researchers and provides practical guidance on how to preregister their research using templates and platforms such as the Open Science Framework (OSF). ### Target Audience ### The workshop is designed to be relevant to anyone who uses data of any type to test predictions arising from hypotheses and wishes to start preregistering their research. It is open to colleagues and postgraduate researchers. No prior experience of preregistration is required. ### Learning Objectives ### At the end of the workshop participants will be able to: - Understand how preregistration enhances rigour, transparency, reproducibility - Select a suitable preregistration template for their research - Complete the relevant sections of a preregistration template - Create a registration on the open science framework - Update a registration to reflect changes in a research plan ### Programme ### The workshop programme is as follows: - Introduction to preregistration - Discussion of pros and cons of preregistration - Guided practical - completing a preregistration template - Creating a registration on the open science framework
