Description: This project contains file related to a longitudinal study conducted by the NCSU Libraries and the UNC / NC State Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering. This study assesses the impact of changes made to the undergraduate curriculum. Students in several different cohorts were provided information literacy training in order to encourage students to learn more about the the business hurdles involved in designing medical devices, including regulatory approval, reimbursement strategy, intellectual property, and marketing challenges. Student performance is measured using two methods: student achievement of learning outcomes is assessed using rubrics and students' citation patterns in their final assignments are analyzed.
