*** **Information on data protection** *** General: Our research study investigates the relationship between emotional intelligence and leadership behavior. In the course of the study, personal data is collected with online questionnaires that are managed with [Qualtrics][1] - a company that belongs to the German software company SAP SE. The data center is located in Germany. Information on Qualtrics' compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and further information on the platform can be found by following this [>>> link][2]. Process for data collection and analysis: We ask supervisors to provide us with the names and e-mail addresses of at least five of their employees. This information will be temporarily stored for the purpose of creating personalized survey links in Qualtrics. These web-based survey links are then emailed to the respective employees. All participants register using an individual code word under which their data is stored. After filling out the questionnaires, the data of all team members are linked to each other by a pseudonymization procedure. To be more specific we replace all personal data (e.g. name, e-mail address, organization) with specific codes and numbering (e.g. employee 4 of team 7 from organization 3). This process ensures that the team results are linked and can be evaluated within the research project. Once the pseudonymisation of data is complete, we delete all personal data from all data sources (Qualtrics and e-mail servers). From this point on it will be no longer possible to identify individual persons within the research project. We offer study participants the opportunity to receive feedback on their individual test results on emotional intelligence. This requires an analysis of the data on an individual level, which is only done at the explicit request of the participants. The creation and provision of feedback results takes place before the pseudonmization of the data. The results are not passed on to third parties (including the supervisor(s)). For teams with at least five employees, we provide feedback to superiors on their leadership behavior upon request which is based on the average assessment by all employees who took part in the survey (at least five). Supervisors do not receive any individual answers from employees that would enable them to identify individual persons. In order to protect the anonymity of the employees, superiors do not receive any feedback if fewer than five employees participated in the survey. For the purposes of this study, we are only interested in the data at group level. At no time will individual data from individuals be published or passed on to third parties. As soon as we have completed the study, all personal entries relating to individual participants will be deleted. Prof. Dr. Myriam N.
