Wiki Version:
Like any child, children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) may witness crimes that require they attempt to identify the perpetrator from a lineup. Although children with ASD tend to remember and recognize faces more poorly than neurotypical children, little is known about lineup identification abilities among ASD children. As part of a larger study, 22 ASD and 41 control children participated in a four-session study. Following an approximate 10-month delay, children were given a lineup identification task. Results revealed ASD and control children performed similarly when asked to identify three target persons with whom they interacted on three separate occasions.
