**Contains** R-scripts for the analyses and for generation of figures presented in the paper We recommend **read**ing the **INFO** section of each script, **READ_ME Scripts.txt**, and **READ_ME** specific to each data file used in the script **before using the data**. ---------- WHEN USING THIS SCRIPTS and/or DATA, **PLEASE CITE** along witht the original paper: Bulla et al (2016). Supporting infromation for 'Unexpected diversity in socially synchronized rhythms of shorebirds'. Open Science Framework. http://osf.io/wxufm Retrieved: ADD DATETIME. ---------- Questions can be directed to: Martin Bulla (**bulla.mar@gmail.com**) ---------- **Data** are available as sqlite database or as csv files from [http://osf.io/eydx5][1] Data collection and how the individual variables and datasets were derived, and statistical method are described in the paper. Figures were generated by the scripts, and then finalized in Adobe Illustrator. --------- The scripts run with - the R version 3.1.1 (2014-07-10) - the datasets specified in the INFO section of each script - the packages listed together with their versions and further R-information in the sessionInfo() section at the end of each script The scripts are optimezed for use with Notepad++ editor. Its portable version, together with 'crl+R+toR.exe' file are downloadable from the same directory as the r-Scripts http://osf.io/a8jwb (if 'crl+R+toR.exe' placed in the 'Start up' folder or run by clicking at it, it can be used to copy any highligted text to R consol by pressing ctrl+R ) For better readability the subsections of the scripts can be collapsed (Alt+0). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SCRIPTS: - **Prepare_data_for_analyses**.R - uses extracted bouts and period data together with metadata to create datasets used in the analyses - **Analyses**.R - contains scripts and links to scripts to recreate all statistical outpus presented and discussed in the papper - **Phylogenetic_analyses**.R - contains scripts to run phylogenetic models, analyses related to phylogenetic models, as well as to create Figure 5 and Extended Data Tables 1-3 - **Figure_1**.R - script to recreate Figure 1 - **Figure_2**.R - script to recreate Figure 2 - **Extended_Data_Figure_1**.R - script to recreate Extended_Data_Figure_1 - **Extended_Data_Figure_6**.R - script to recreate Extended_Data_Figure_6 - **Supplementary_Actograms**.R - script to recreate Supplementary_Actograms.R - **Add_Ch.nivosus_to_trees**.R - script to add Ch. nivosus as sister species of Ch. alexandrinusto in 100 phylogenetic trees - **Period_extraction**.R - script used to extract period length of incubation rhtyhm for each nest [1]: http://osf.io/eydx5
