Wiki Version:
This study is part of a larger project aimed at developing new stimulus material that compares to the material used in Holmes et al (2009). We compare a sequence of filmscenes depicting interpersonal violence (e.g. murder) with scenes about accidents/natural disaster. The film(scenes) eliciting the most image-based intrusions in a 7-day diary were used in a further study (https://osf.io/n42he/). The data reported here was collected from female first year students enrolled in the Dutch or International track of the BSc programme in Psychology at the University of Groningen in the academic years 2018/19 or 2019/20. They participated in exchange for course credits. The data are also reported as Dataset 2 in Van Ravenzwaaij et al (2023, https://osf.io/preprints/psyarxiv/acpm3), containing N = 206. Additional evaluation of preregistered criteria revealed that one case should be excluded and hence the dataset reported here contains 205 cases.
