Description: There are limited measures in Russian that can be employed to investigate violence against women, particularly rapes. Following works on rape myths, - faulty beliefs about rape scenarios, - the study translates and validates Illinois Rape Myths Acceptance Scale (IRMA). In Study 1, using responses from a Russian speaking sample (n=914), we conducted EFA and CFA, finalizing the shortened form (SF) of Russian IRMA, consisting of 7 factors and 24 items. Study 2 used the newly compiled SF version and using additionally collected sample (n = 565) conducted correlation analysis and Multi-Group Confirmatory Factor Analysis (MGCFA). The results indicate that SF Russian IRMA can be used to measure rape myths acceptance across various demographic groups, but should be applied cautiously when focusing on comparing acceptance rate between gender groups (men and women).
