The results of our study found that our hypothesis: self-esteem would not be a predictor of the perceived opportunity that Facebook gives into disclosing and expressing oneself, was in fact true. The rest of our hypothesis states that people who have low self-esteem will see Facebook as a safer place to connect and disclose information than those with high self-esteem, was proven false. These hypotheses were based on the findings of the original study.
For our study we added a new variable, introversion, and hypothesis. Our hypothesis was that introversion will have no effect on the self-disclosure and safety a person feels in relation to Facebook. This hypothesis was proven true, introversion had no predictor value on disclosure or safety.
