Wiki Version:
# Introduction This project investigates kin recognition in children's faces. We will compare third-party kinship judgments using 2D and 3D face stimuli. Also, following Maloney & Dal Martello (2006), we will test whether third-party kinship judgments are affected by age and sex difference between the children. Maloney & Dal Martello (2006) found that kinship judgments were unaffected by age or sex differences between children. Our pilot studies suggest that judgments of kinship are more probable for same-sex and similar-aged children, although this does not interact with actual relatedness (i.e., ability to distinguish related from unrelated pairs is not influenced by age or sex). Here, we use a bigger stimulus set of 50 sibling pairs and 50 age- and sex-matched non-sibling pairs. # References Maloney, L.T. & Dal Martello, M.F. (2006).
