We examined how sharing photos on social networking sites influenced sense of belonging and meaningful existence. Taking and sharing photos containing other people vs. no people was associated with greater presence of meaning (Study 1) and among those high in extraversion, increased sense of belonging and meaningful existence (Study 2).
