This Open Science Framework repository contains all individual participants’ trial-level data for our article submitted to Journal of Vision: "Is there a serial bottleneck in visual object recognition?" by Popovkina, Palmer, Moore & Boynton.
Experiment 1
File organization
The zip file titled ‘ZIPEXPT1’ contains 12 folders, one for each of the 12 participants in Experiment 1. The zip file titled ‘ZIPEXPT1CONTROL’ contains 12 folders, one for each of the 12 participants in the control condition of Experiment 1.
Each participant’s folder contains MATLAB files containing trial-level data. The data files are labeled with the experiment code ‘dt5’, the participant’s initials, and the session number (e.g. dt5DP01 would be session 1 for participant DP).
Included files for each participant
DP: 10, 12-48
JH: 29-70
AD: 02-39
AA: 04, 07-45
ED: 03-40
BE: 01-05, 07-40
LD: 02-39, 41
JA: 01-06, 08-39
AM: 03-40
TA: 08-46
RN: 01-38
BP: 01-24, 26-41
File numbers are in chronological order of sessions, excluding practice sessions. File numbers that are missing from a sequence (e.g., session 11 for DP) were due to failures of equipment, participants mis-entering the current session number, or a session for the control condition.
Analysis and Summary Files
The zip file titled ‘Expt1DataSummary.zip’ includes:
Expt1_SampleAnalysis.m : a sample analysis file for Experiment 1, generating a summary of performance and an AOC plot (equivalent to Fig 3 in the paper) for one participant (DP). This program was developed and tested in Matlab version 2014a. To run the program, include this .m script and the data files to be analyzed in the same folder, and set that folder to be current on the Matlab path.
Expt1Summary.xlsx : a table summarizing the data for each participant in Experiment 1.
