Description: A phylogeographic analysis of Daphnia magna Straus 1820 (Crustacea, Cladocera) was used to study the consequences of underestimating the effects of biological invasions, namely, the contamination of a common pool of haplotypes by adventive sequences. An algorithm for identifying the latter is proposed.
