Wiki Version:
**PLEASE READ!:** **IMPORTANT**: Based on new data (Specker et al., under review) one answer option for B6 has been changed (from "collage" to "new media"). Updated version of the questionnaire can be found here named "VAIAK-R". Please see Specker et al. (2023): https://doi.org/10.1037/aca0000559 This is the supporting material to the publication: Specker, E., Forster, M., Brinkmann, H., Boddy, J., Pelowski, M., Rosenberg, R., & Leder, H. (2018). The Vienna Art Interest and Art Knowledge (VAIAK) Questionnaire: A Unified and Validated Measure of Art Interest and Art Knowledge.*Psychology of Aesthetics, Creativity, and the Arts* DOI: 10.1037/aca0000205 And following publications, Specker (2021): https://doi.org/10.1037/aca0000427 Specker et al. (2023): https://doi.org/10.1037/aca0000559 For the password to access the zip file with the images (and the qualtrics plugin) or any other inquiries please contact: eva.specker@univie.ac.at ---- The supporting material consist of: 1. The images used in the questionnaire (Images_VAIAK.zip) 2. SPSS syntax and R code to code the questionnaire (in the Coding Syntax folder) For those using other coding environments, I recommend to consult the SPSS/R script for a comprehensive list of acceptable answers, as opposed to relying solely on the table from the previous publications. 4. A file with all correct answers for Part C of the Questionnaire to allow for manual coding (to support the SPSS syntax), also in the Coding Syntax folder 5. At the moment, the questionnaire is available in German, English (validated version), Spanish (translated, validation ongoing) and Dutch (translated version), for the new version use the questionnaires in the VAIAK-R folder. 6. A zip-file with Qualtrics plug-ins for German and English versions. The file creates the full questionnaire including high-resolution images for you in Qualtrics to use. In addition, the variable names are named in a way to match the SPSS syntax of 2. Here again, please use the VAIAK-R versions. 7. An R-code file (Analysis_CFA_clean.R) which is related to Specker (2021). https://doi.org/10.1037/aca0000427 8. For questions like, "how long does the scale take?", "can I shorten the scale" etc, See Specker (2021) available here: https://doi.org/10.1037/aca0000427 or on RG: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/352933599_Further_Validating_the_VAIAK_Defining_a_Psychometric_Model_Configural_Measurement_Invariance_Reliability_and_Practical_Guidelines ***************************************** PLEASE NOTE: Part A and B are forced-response formats. Part C is not. In addition, the "familiar?" questions are used as a measure of subjective knowledge for validation purposes as described in the paper.
