(2020). Teleporting through virtual environments: Effects of path scale and environment scale on spatial updating. IEEE: Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics, 26(5), 1841-1850. Code used to run the experiment is available on GitHub: https://github.com/NavigationLab/warehouse-teleporting Data files are provided in CSV format. Column headers are described below: - Participant - ID number of the participant - Gender - Participant gender (male or female) - Interface - Discordant teleporting or hybrid teleporting (hybrid indicates partially concordant teleporting) - Environment - Big or small warehouse - PathSize - Small path (1x) or large path (4x) - Trial - Trial number within trial block (1-12) - GreenX - Location of the green post (x dimension) - GreenZ - Location of the green post (z dimension) - GreenDist - Distance of green post from center (0,0) - GreenAngle - Angle of green post from center (0,0) - YellowX - Location of the yellow post (x dimension) - YellowY - Location of the yellow post (z dimension) - YellowDist - Distance of yellow post from green post - YellowAngle - Angle of yellow post from green post - RedX - Location of the red post (x dimension) - RedZ - Location of the red post (z dimension) - RedDist - Distance of red post from yellow post - CompletionDist - Distance to green post from red post - TriangleCompletionAngle - Angle of green post from red post - AnswerX - Participant's response (x dimension) - AnswerY - Participant's response (y dimension) - AnswerDist - Distance of participant's response from red post - AnswerTurnAngle - Angle of participant's response from red post - ErrorX - Difference between participant's response and green post (x dimension) - ErrorY - Difference between participant's response and green post (y dimension) - ErrorMag - Absolute distance between the participant's response and the green post - AxialError - Difference between the distance of the response and distance of the green post relative to the red post location. Negative indicates a response that is too short. - AngularError - Angular error of the participant's response - TimeToGreen - Time to reach the green post from the start of the trial - TimeToRed - Time to reach the red post relative to the time when the green post was reached. - TimeToAnswer - Time to respond relative to the time when the green post was reached.
