This is a replication of “On the relative independence of thinking biases and cognitive ability” Stanovich and West (2008). This replication is part of the Reproducility Project: Psychology. Data collection is to be done at UC Riverside by December 31, 2014. **Original citation.** KE Stanovich, RF West (2008). On the relative independence of thinking biases and cognitive ability. Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, 94(4):672-95. doi: 10.1037/0022-3514.94.4.672. **Target of replication.** Stanovich and West found that participants who answered correctly were more often of higher cognitive ability and those participants who answered incorrectly were more often of lower cognitive ability, t(373) = 4.40, p <.001. **A priori replication criteria.** A successful replication would find significant difference (p < .05) between SAT scores of those participants who answered the questions correctly and SAT scores of those who answered the questions incorrectly.
