Transportation and elaboration: Not the same in all contexts

During persuasion, transportation predicts intentions mediated by perceived elaboration. However, in a narrative-framed vs. editorial experiment, the path from perceived elaboration to intentions was mediated by relevant belief change only following an editorial. Perceived elaboration in this context was predicted by an interaction of transportation and explicit thought.
