# **Research Data Management for Humanists** <br> This site brings together training and educational materials from recent workshops and events held across Canada to build up knowledge and skills in research data management (RDM) for researchers in the Humanities and Social Sciences.<br><br> #### **Workshops** <br>**June 14, 2021** ### [Research Data Management for Digitally Curious Humanists][1] This is a virtual event that brings together humanities researchers to exchange views on the concept of "research data" within the context of a wide range of humanities fields, discuss their practices and challenges in managing digital research data, and produce community-based tools to support the development and adoption of research data management (RDM) practices. *Co-located with the Digital Humanities Summer Institute, 2021* <br> **May 21 and May 28, 2021** ### [Making Research Data Public][2] #### [Workshopping data curation for digital humanities projects][2] Increasingly DH researchers have greater access to funding to support large-scale multi-partner projects with diverse digital assets. A lack of formal training opportunities for data curation in multi-site DH teams means that the data produced in these teams is in danger of being lost! This workshop is a good preparation for researchers who must create a data management plan to comply with funding agency requirements. *Part of the Digital Humanities Summer Institute : Technologies East 2021 (known as DHSITE)* <br> #### **Presentations** <br> **February 15, 2023** ### [RDM for Human(ist)s][3] In this presentation we discuss and identify unique considerations for managing “humanities and social sciences research data”. Through discussion and hands-on activities, we introduce you to the basic lifecycle of data -- including your own reserach data. We learn about different formats (proprietary vs. open), software, and metadata for your data.
