Abstract: **Education meets reality - How to help course participants make the most of your course** Do you know what happens after course participants go back to their research work? What are the obstacles they will face when they try to implement new skills in their own work? And are there ways you can help them overcome these obstacles? Based on the paper “Ten simple rules for implementing open and reproducible research practices after a training course” (https://doi.org/10.1371/journal.pcbi.1010750) we will brainstorm and discuss strategies for trainers that can help your participants turn education into reality. We will think about how course design, delivery and support after the course affect how much of your training can be implemented by course participants. This will be an interactive session and we also hope to hear from you about your experiences about what works and what doesn’t in your contexts and environments.
